Bucketeer — Support

Bucketeer is a native macOS app for browsing and managing S3-compatible object storage.

Getting started

  1. Open Bucketeer and click Add Connection
  2. Enter your endpoint URL (for example, https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com for AWS)
  3. Enter your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key
  4. Click Connect

For local services like LocalStack or MinIO, click Scan for Known Local Services to auto-detect running instances.

Common questions

How do I connect to AWS S3? Click “Pre-fill for AWS S3 endpoint” when adding a connection. Enter your IAM credentials. You can import credentials from a CSV file downloaded from the AWS console.

How do I upload files? Drag and drop files or folders onto the object browser panel. You can also use the upload button in the toolbar.

How do I download files? Drag files from Bucketeer to Finder, or right-click and select Download.

What is read-only mode? Read-only mode is enabled by default to prevent accidental changes. Toggle it off in the toolbar when you need to upload, delete, or modify objects.

Does Bucketeer store my credentials? Credentials are stored locally in your Mac’s Keychain. They never leave your machine.

Does Bucketeer collect any data? No. Bucketeer has no analytics, no telemetry, and no network calls other than your S3 connections. Everything stays on your Mac.
